After nearly 12 years in operation, FirstLook Boutique of Ennis will be closing its doors on December 31, 2020. The boutique, which serves to provide financial support for the mission of FirstLook Center, first opened in 2009 offering a variety of gently used items including clothing, accessories, decor, kitchenware, and household goods.
FirstLook CEO, Donna Young said, “Unfortunately, a collection of challenging circumstances has made it increasingly more difficult for our Ennis Boutique to support the mission of FirstLook. While we are obviously disappointed to have to make the decision to close the boutique, we remain committed to the Ennis community and our clients.”
The boutique will remain open until the end of the year Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM, closing November 26-28 for Thanksgiving and December 24-26 for Christmas. As they prepare for this change, all items in the store are discounted 50% or more. In addition, they will no longer be accepting donations at the Ennis boutique but will gladly accept new and gently used items at the Waxahachie boutique – Wednesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM.
FirstLook serves a large percentage of clients from Ennis at their clinic, located in Waxahachie, and will continue to seek out opportunities for outreach in the Ennis community. Donna Young made it clear that FirstLook is committed to the Ennis community.
“Our boutique may be closing, but we are not leaving this community. We will continue to serve our clients and provide opportunities for the people of Ennis to volunteer and serve as well.”
FirstLook Board Member, Vernon Witherspoon added, “A significant part of our heart and love at FirstLook has been the Ennis community. The Ennis community and east Ellis County continues to be a major part of where FirstLook serves and is involved as we look for even more and better ways to be active in this community.”
