A History of Saving Lives
In 1995, a small group of people inspired by a local pastor came together who wanted to save the lives of the pre-born and make a difference in the lives of parents and their children. FirstLook was founded as the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Ellis County, and since that time, over 32,000 people have been reached with God’s love in action. There are no other agencies in Ellis County except FirstLook that provide these same services at no cost.
FirstLook has been an integral part of our community because of the generous financial support of individual donors, churches, businesses, local foundations, and the hundreds of thousands of hours given by faithful volunteers.
In 2005, our thrift store, FirstLook Boutique, was started in a small corner of the clinic as a means to provide more income for the ministry. In 2007, the store moved to its own leased space just three suites down from the clinic and is still there today. In 2009, another Boutique was opened in downtown Ennis but then closed at the end of 2020 due to impacts from the COVID pandemic.
As we celebrate our 26th anniversary in 2021, we are grateful for our past and are focusing on our future where more men and women feel empowered to embrace life, every human life is valued, and the only choice is love.
