Meet Marla. Marla was a 19-year-old teenager. Marla suspected she was pregnant, but was too terrified to tell her mother. Alone and scared, Marla felt she wasn’t ready to become a parent, but didn’t know her options.

By God’s Grace, Marla found FirstLook. Here, Marla was met by professionally trained staff members, like Liz, who welcomed her with compassion and understanding. They were able to confirm her pregnancy with a free pregnancy test and an ultrasound. As Marla saw her baby for the very first time, it was this moment that she chose life for her child.

Marla no longer feels alone. She knows the team from FirstLook is there to provide her with the support and community that she will need going forward.

Liz’s Story

Meet Liz. Liz is a grandmother who, as a young adult, had an unexpected pregnancy. Unarmed with education about her options, Liz regrettably chose abortion. Years later, she continued to feel the weight of that decision until she found healing through a post abortion care program.

Then, the Lord led Liz to FirstLook. Here, she works as a registered nurse and cares for young women, like Marla, who find themselves in the same predicament she was in years ago. Liz can empathize with young women and equip them with options.

It’s in these moments, that Liz’s past story of trauma is redeemed as she helps other young women move forward in hope.

Jon's Story

Meet Jon. Jon and his wife, Kathy, are faithful Christians who support Pro-Life ministries. One day, Jon and Kathy were shocked to learn that their son and his girlfriend were pregnant.

Scared, the couple was seriously contemplating abortion. Jon was desperate to give them options and found FirstLook. Jon couldn’t believe that not only was this organization located in their own town, but was directly across the street from where his son and girlfriend were living.

After visiting FirstLook, Jon noted that the young mother-to-be had transformed from feelings of anxious uncertainty to having hopeful expectations. What an answered prayer for Jon and his wife who were then able to help welcome their new grandbaby into the world! Jon was able to experience firsthand, the kind of support that FirstLook provides to young couples as they navigate the journey of parenthood.

Meet Marcus

Meet Marcus. Marcus and his wife were young and newly married. When she became pregnant, Marcus wasn’t sure he knew how to be a father. In need of resources and guidance, the couple found FirstLook.

Marcus was able to receive support from male mentors, who helped counsel him on becoming a father. They encouraged him to become involved in his wife’s pregnancy and taught him how to be a true partner to her.

FirstLook guided the young couple through their entire pregnancy mentally, physically and emotionally. Through the support of generous donors, like Jon and Kathy, FirstLook provided parenting classes, counseling sessions and the services of a doula, free of charge. Now equipped with the resources they needed, Marcus and his wife were prepared to enter into parenthood with knowledge and confidence.
